Catriona is passionate about creating safe, supportive and respectful rehearsal environments. Through directing fringe and low-budget projects involving intimate moments, she became increasingly aware of the importance of having someone in the room dedicated to supporting safe practice and performer wellbeing.

She recently worked as Intimacy Director on Reconnect Theatres’ production of Romeo & Juliet, collaborating with director Sam Stuart Fraser and assistant director Kirsty Morrison, to facilitate the production’s vision while ensuring intimate material was approached with clarity, consent, and care.

Catriona has undertaken introductory training in intimacy coordination through the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and hopes to continue developing her practice in this area, undertaking further formal training in the coming years.
